Yongchun County, in the Quanzhou prefecture of southern Fujian, is the home of Fo Shou (Buddha's Hand) oolong, with a cultivation history of roughly 300 years in the mountains of Sukeng, Yudou, Jindou and Guiyang at 600-900m.

Fo Shou's large, thick leaves — said to resemble the fingered citron and a Buddha's open palm — give an oolong with a distinctive bright citrus fragrance over a thick, soft, almost buttery body. Traditionally made in the Yongchun style as a fragrant oolong, the cultivar was also carried to the Wuyi Mountains in the 1980s and is now also processed there in the roasted rock-tea style.
