Tsuyuhikari (つゆひかり) is a Shizuoka green-tea cultivar registered in 2003, a cross of the Shizu 7132 line with the refined Asatsuyu cultivar. It inherits Asatsuyu's sweetness and adds a striking colour.
Its signature is a brilliant emerald-green infusion with a fresh, sweet, lightly umami cup and low astringency. Tsuyuhikari is a sought-after single-cultivar sencha for drinkers who prize vivid colour and clean sweetness, and it is one of the more successful modern Shizuoka releases.
