Phoenix Dancong (鳳凰單欉, Fenghuang Dancong) comes from the Fenghuang Shuixian cultivar group on Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou, Guangdong. "Dancong" means "single bush": the finest material is harvested and processed tree by tree, and outstanding individual trees are propagated as named aroma types — Mi Lan Xiang (honey-orchid), Ya Shi Xiang ("duck-shit" orchid), Xing Ren Xiang (almond) and many more.

Dancong is famous for naturally mimicking floral and fruit aromas without any additive, an effect of the cultivar group plus skilled roasting. The cup is highly aromatic, honeyed and orchid-like with a long finish, and high-mountain old-tree Dancong is among the most collectable of Chinese oolongs.
