TV23
A brisk, bright Cambod-type Tocklai clone — reliable quality-and-yield workhorse of NE India.
TV23 (Tocklai Vegetative 23) is one of the numbered clones released by the Tocklai Tea Research Institute in Assam, the oldest tea research station in the world. It is classified as a Cambod-type clone (Camellia sinensis var. cambodiensis influence), the intermediate between the small-leaf China bush and the big-leaf Assam jat.
TV23 is valued as a balanced commercial clone — good cup quality with strong, reliable yield — and is one of the more widely planted Tocklai clones across northeast India. It typically gives a brisk, bright, malty black tea and is a useful reference for the clonal material behind much modern Indian production.
